Some of the recent rush might have evanesced, but
Twitter is still standing proud. In fact, this week the very
first tweeting device ever was released by
Peek.
Whether it catches on or not is besides the point – it just underlines how popular Twitter is. To think that a company saw enough commercial potential to release a device that does not even let you navigate the Internet or check your e-mails is amazing. So is the never-faltering stream of Twitter apps, of which Tweet Radio is the most recent exponent
Essentially, this site will empower you to tune into a permanent broadcast of tweets. These come from Twitter’s public stream, and they are read aloud automatically by a software application.
If anything, the site has a high novelty appeal. I am not that certain how useful it truly is, or how successful it can be from a
commercial point of view. But people are always looking into ways of accessing Twitter differently, so that it will have intrinsic value to many. My question is, now that Twitter has started being
translated into other languages, how could this site cope with that?
