Twitter appears to have become quite the developer's plaything. The number of Twitter related apps keeps rising despite Twitter's dubious appeal. One of the latest in the Twitter production line is called TweetDeck. TweetDeck is a new desktop client for Twitter that's similar to other desktop clients like Twhirl and Twitterific. However, TweetDeck claims to be different. It has a different interface than its competitors. Instead of the usual one-column of information at a time display, TweetDeck offers a customizable interface. You can make as many columns as you like to fit your needs. It's an Adobe AIR-based application that allows for groups to keep track of friends and competitors. Whenever you form a group, TweetDeck will organize into a column for you and over time will add your friends as it recognizes them. There's also a search feature made through Summize. And you can Twitter even when you're offline. It's free and currently in private beta. Simply download to use.
