TweetBurner.com - Keeping Track Of Shared Links

    tweetburner

Twitter app madness continues with newcomer TweetBurner. TweetBurner lets you know what’s happening with all those links that are shared in tweets on Twitter. First, though all urls entered into TweetBurner can and must be shortened easily into what the site dubs twurls, or simply shortened tweet urls. After that, you can track what’s going on with your links. More precisely, TweetBurner will tell you how many clicks it has gotten. The homepage features the top most clicked links of all time, and by the hour. There’s also a bookmarklet for easier posting. So far 1574 twurls have been generated.

    In their own words

“We are Tweetburner and we allow you to keep track of what happens to the links in tweets shared with you, by you, by your friends and every other twitterer.

Head over to the Tweetburner Blog to read more about the upcoming features.”

Why it might be a killer

This is a simple app, but its quite useful for Twitter users who want to track their influence. Twitterers can use TweetBurner to see if people actually go to the links they share, and to see how many other links attract attention.

    Some questions

Will this be able to gain traction? Will users find it practical, or unnecessary?
