If you´re all about independent music, you´ll be all about TuneShout. TuneShout is a site that permits users to promote their music free of charge. Listeners, in return, can download their favorite tunes heard on TuneShout either free of charge or for an 89¢ charge to receive a ¨premium track¨. Therefore, artists have the chance to either sell their music or can just use the website to get free publicity to build a fan base. Users also have the opportunity to vote on their favorite artists and give feedback to get the musicians they like best to be ranked on TuneShout´s 'stage´. Artists and listeners can further benefit each other by giving 'shout outs' to who they like best.

We want to give every artist a fair chance at gaining exposure, and every listener an unbiased selection of independent music. We are an interactive, real-time music chart for up and coming artists, as well as a forum where artists and listeners work in unison.¨

If you´re just starting out as a musician and want to gain some much needed exposure, TuneShout allows you the opportunity to accomplish this feat for free. You can also start to sell your tracks for a price that listeners will agree on is a good value. Listeners furthermore can download music for free, which should encourage them to get involved with the artists they prefer, continuing the cycle of a musician-artist relationship. And although it´s cool that you can find a wide array of music on the site (ranging from classical to metal), it´s frustrating to have to search blindly to find what type interests you. TuneShout should think about creating a tabbing system where listeners can search by genre.
