Twitpress is a downloadable WordPress plug-in that allows bloggers to notify all of their Twitter followers when they have made a new blog entry or when they have edited an already existing one. Simply download the plug-in, enter your twitter username and password into the Twitpress menu in the WordPress manager menu, and then define the tweet that you would like to send to your followers when you post something new. Twitpress is easy to use and it automates the process of alerting your followers when you post something new, leaving you with more time to work on that next blog entry. Twitpress is free to use and you can rest assured that all your followers are reading every post that you make.

Twitpress automates the notification process allowing bloggers to market their new postings without having to do anything. Bridging WordPress users with Twitter in an automatic way is a great idea that should be a really popular application.
Are there any plans to monetize this project? It is currently free which isn’t much of a surprise but it is difficult to see where they could plug in advertising to create a functioning business model.
