The easiest way to do this is with a genre of websites that analyze your entertainment preferences and make suggestions based on what you currently own. This One Next is one of such sites.

You can plug in the title or author of a book you currently own, an album or artists name, or a movie title, and This One Next will generate a list of CDs, DVDs, and books that you might enjoy based on suggestions by other site members. You don’t need to register in order to use this basic service, but This One Next offers the option of entering in lists of books, DVDs, and albums as entire lists instead of one-by-one, and to access this function, which the site claims produces better results, you’ll need to sign up.

When I tried out each of the three categories of This One Next using the basic search tool, I was not impressed with the results (for example, when I entered in Thievery Corporation, a chill-out band, for “CDs”, This One Next actually recommended a CD called “Death Metal”).

This One Next’s list-entry tool offers a more systematic way of evaluating your entertainment tastes than do other services which only let you enter in one title at a time.
