In their own words
“ VRS strives to be a virtual meeting place for musicians to create music. In VRS, all musicians are "studio musicians", and VRS strives to create a place where different musicians can work together on multiple songs. Now, an artist with a really great song is no longer limited by geographic location, in finding other "local" musicians that have the same musical tastes. Instead, artists can use VRS to collaborate with like minded musicians, whether they are in the same neighborhood or on different continents, using the magical ether of the Internet.”
Why it might be a killer
VRS has come up with a solution for a familiar problem: musical collaboration. Sometimes there just aren’t any musical talents in your ‘hood which means either moving to NY or if you haven’t got that kind of cash, looking to the virtual realm. VRS has the tools to connect artists, making virtual collaboration almost as good as in the real world.
Some questions
VRS doesn’t quite yet have a spectacular service. Basically it’s a jazzed up message board with chat functions. Will VRS add more power to its tool set? Will musicians find it useful/adequate?
