TheContinuum.com - Flash Game for Serious Gamers

    thecontinuum

The recently launched Continuum, which has been in development for over a year now, aims to change the face of Flash games by appealing more to the hardcore gamer than to the casual gamer as is usually the case with Flash games. The Continuum is a turn-based Role Playing strategy game that requires no downloads and plays in any browser. The game play will be familiar to anyone who enjoys playing fantasy RPG’s and consists of acquiring skills for your characters before sending them off to do battle against each other. Gamers can buy new “packs” of players to increase the size of their armies and then must build them up into intimidating warriors. The sale of these characters is the basis of Continuum’s business model as well.

    In their own words

“The Continuum™, the online collectible wargame coming soon from Seven Lights, combines strategy with a deep and involving narrative to create an all-new kind of gaming experience. Follow the ongoing story of a universe unhinged in The Continuum comic series. As the narrative unfolds, new characters, abilities and equipment become available in the game.”

Why it might be a killer

More complicated and robust Flash games would appear to be the way that the gaming industry is moving these days and Continuum could be one of the leading forces of change in this industry.

    Some questions

Have they considered improving the instructions on the page, perhaps by providing an online tutorial? It is currently a bit difficult for new players to figure out exactly what they have to do to get started.
