In their own words
"This calculator was built for the sole purpose of helping students solve math problems and explain step by step how the problems are solved.
So far it allows parentheses, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction. More to come."
Why it might be a killer
It can help people understand math problems and how they are worked from start to resolution. For teachers helping their students with solving order of operation problems, this would be a good site to refer them to if they need more of an explanation and more practice problems.
Some questions
There are some functions that don't work currently, such as the end parenthesis, which ends up messing up the calculation of the problem. When will this be fixed? What other kinds of tools and features are they thinking of adding? Will more advanced calculations be added in the future so that it's not left to pretty basic math problems?
Updates
The parentheses problem has been fix and the calculator has been updated to Web 2.0. It now solves problems on the fly and will explain to a user why a problem is incorrect if not type in correctly.
The site has also been revamped for adding new features in the future.
