Mashup StockCloud extracts data from press releases; the resulting display is a tag cloud which positions companies with frequent releases more prominently. Basically what you’ll see is a grouping of stock ticker symbols.

Click on any one and you’ll get the number of press releases involving the company, as well as relations to other symbols; also listed are last price, high, low, opening, business partners, and news. Press Releases are compiled from Market Wire. The aim of this cloud is to root out business partnership data by tracking press releases. While the data might not reveal that much about partnerships, it may still hold interest for investors.

To accomplish this we selected a press release distribution agency, MarketWire, and began tracking releases. Using in-house developed code we parsed press releases and extracted any relevant stock symbol information. It's this extracted data that is the basis of Stock Cloud.”

Stock Cloud is an interesting idea. It aggregates useful data that investors may be able to use. There is an audience who would find the data significant.
