In their own words
“Ben and I grew up in the Seattle area. Every Friday night we would go to the record store and spend hours finding new music. Our favorite store with Cellophane Square because they provided such a great experience. I remember walking in and it was this totally different world. There were all of these cool rock posters on the wall, they had T-shirts from all the cool and obscure bands, and the music they played in the store was really cutting edge. The people that worked there had tons of tattoos, piercings, and wild hair; they were also mavens. They knew everything about music. The whole experience was captivating.
Why it might be a killer
Everyone uses iTunes all over the world, and a free plug-in to make the experience more fun is something everyone would like. Being paired with iTunes also gives them a huge resource for marketing.
Some questions
Are having album art and lyrics available important enough for iTunes users for them to take up space on their computers? How will they get more people interested in their product so that the community aspect of the site will be worth while?
