Snackr is a cross platform RSS ticker built using Adobe Air and Flex. Snackr displays random stories that it pulls from your feed list or from an OPML file and then displays them in a ticker on your desktop. When you see a title that looks interesting, simply click on it and it will open up in a new pop up window. To get Snackr, simply go to the site and click “install now” which will start the download of Snackr and also the Adobe Air setup. Copying new feeds to Snackr is simple to do especially if you use Firefox which you can set to automatically add feeds to Snackr each time you click on a feed icon. Currently, Snackr checks your feeds for updates approximately every 45-minutes although they claim to be adding additional functionality that will allow users to select how often it checks for updates in the near future.

In their own words
“It's an RSS ticker that pulls random items from your feeds and scrolls them across your desktop. When you see a title that looks interesting, you can click on it to pop up the item in a window.”
Why it might be a killer
This is a great desktop tool that should be particularly popular amongst those who are subscribed to a high volume of feeds since it gives you a random cross section of all of them.
Some questions
When will they be adding more options that will allow users to define how often Snackr checks for updates? Also, the logo is a bit confusing, and might lead some to believe that the program is not operational due to the fact that it is displayed as the now familiar RSS logo with a chunk out of it. Could they change the logo to remove this confusion?
