SlingPage.com - Stickies for the Web

    slingpage

Slingpage makes bookmarking interactive. It’s a new start up recently out of private beta that’s applied the sticky note on the web concept to social media and content sharing. It’s been tried before, but without much success. Slingpage lets you immediately send a page or site you’re visiting to friends and family with a single click. You can even start a chat about the page. Build content you like and start a ‘SlingCast’, or a little broadcast of stuff you like and share with friends. Slingpage currently only works as an Internet Explorer extension but a Firefox version is in the works. You can import contacts from Outlook, Yahoo, Facebook, and Gmail.

    In their own words

“Slingpage makes the leap from old-fashioned bookmarking to real-time social sharing. With Slingpage, you can instantly send any page you’re visiting directly to your friends and followers, with a single click, right from your browser. It’s a faster, funner way of sharing, We call it Slinging.”

Why it might be a killer

Slingpage is an interesting way of sharing content. It’s like bookmarking but with a twist that may capture the user’s attention more so than bookmarking actually does.

    Some questions

Why just Internet Explorer? Previous attempts have not been fruitful, will Slingpage succeed? And what about Mac users?
