Shuurl.com - Shrinking URLs

SHUURL is another service focused at making huge URLs shorter. However they claim that their service is unlike any other based on the fact they will not simply redirect you to the site where you want to go, but instead they will give you a whole lot of other services.





Here is how it works - first is first, you go on Google and land on a search result that has a URL that is (give or take) about two light years long. Now, all you have to do is go onto SHUURL and type it in their nifty little box, press “shorten!!” and BOOOM! It doesn’t blow up or anything, but it takes you to the next page where your new URL is displayed.

When you choose to follow the new URL it takes you to a SHUURL page where a screenshot of the website which is linked is shown, on top of that it gives you a rating of how safe the site is. In this way you will no longer follow a link to somewhere unknown or somewhere you don’t want to go.
