Cutting and pasting urls is so passé. Sazell, a new site which lets you take “snapshots” of web sites, allows for a different method of sharing information from websites. With Sazell, you can take a snapshot of any size from any webpage, including or excluding as much text and images as you would like. There are there basic ways to create a snapshot, the first being to manually enter in the snapshot info (Snap It), the second being to automatically fetch information from a url (Snaplink), and lastly, auto “snap”-ing web pages as you visit them. From there, you can share these snapshots with friends in a variety of ways. You can share your snapshots on a basic level by including them in your MySpace profile or an eBay listing by embedding them, or alternately, you can use one of a few free widgets provided by Sazell to showcase a slideshow of your snapshots on your web page. You can also search for others’ snapshots by tag or by category. Right now, Sazell is operating exclusively in private beta, so you’ll need an invite to join.

Sazell definitely brings something new and interesting to the table. The snapshots provide a more direct and efficient way to pull information off of a website and share it with others; there’s no cutting and pasting of urls required. Sazell’s variety of sharing and embedding options make it a good choice for anyone from a casual net surfer to owners of high-profile sites.

When does Sazell plan on going public? This information isn’t readily available on the site. Also, it is not particularly convenient that you can’t try out the “Snap It” feature without already being a member.
