    Rssmeme.com - Google Reader Aggregator

    rssmeme

RSSmeme aggregates all the stories that are being shared on Google reader. Google Reader stories are generally shared by a tech-savvy crowd, so RSSmeme produces some interesting, often non- main stream articles. The site shows the most recent and most popular articles, as well as statistics on users, sources, authors, and tags. RSSmeme, in comparison to other similar sites, offers some major points of differentiation, including a search option for users and stories, a date published filter, tags, a page that works in every browser, author pages, source pages, tag pages, and the ability to find related stories and users.

    In their own words

“I have a script that runs every 5 minutes and grabs the oldest 100 feeds using Universal Feed Parser and slaps the entries into a database. It takes me about 2 minutes to run through 100 feeds. I registered this domain on 2/5/2008 and launched the site on 2/6/2008; just one day later.”

Why it might be a killer

RSSmeme is a great way to stay up on the latest news, specifically the latest underground tech news. Unlike other sites, it offers extended search functions- so consider it a great research tool as well.

    Some questions

The site is constantly updated, and therefore requires a lot of monitoring to stay on top of the trends. Is there a better way to organize the stories to receive a master summary at the end of each day?
