Playturf.net - Online War Game for Local Community

    playturf

Turf, like the recently reviewed Gocrosscampus, is a Risk-like game that allows local communities to play on their own community maps. The game has already attracted a number of loyal followers who like the fact that moves are made online, but a great deal of the strategizing occurs offline in the real world. The maps look great and help to blur the line between fantasy and reality. If you’d like to arrange a game of Turf at your school or company, they will make you a customized map so that you can battle it out on a realistic map of your school or company. Both Turf and Gocrosscampus are currently disputing who should have the rights to this game but its safe to say that at some point, only one will be left.

    In their own words

“The power of Turf is the very real strategy meetings, parties, communication networks, government structures, friendships, alliances and betrayals that emerge over the course of the game. We think this game is important because it brings together members of meaningful, already existing social groups, in the real world.”

Why it might be a killer

This game already has a loyal following at the colleges and universities that it has been played on. Look for it, or Gocrosscampus, to take the nations campuses by storm whenever they have their legal issues sorted out.

    Some questions

Will Turf and Gocrosscampus be able to settle their dispute and focus their energies on making the game even better than it already is?
