PipeBytes.com - Transfer Files Without Email

    pipebytes

Have a file that's going to take an hour to send over email? You may want to invest in the help of a file transfer service like PipeBytes that lets you send large files across your browser without having your email client be the unfortunate beast of burden. With PipeBytes, you can transfer files of any size without installing any software or registering, and your friends can being downloading your file as you're still uploading it to minimize transfer time. To send a file, simply upload it from your desktop and attach an optional description. To pick up a file that someone else has sent to you, click on "Pick Up", and you'll be asked to enter in the access code which the sender would have received after transferring the file. All major browsers are supported, and the service is free of charge.

    In their own words

"This is a very simple way to send your music, movies, presentations, executables and any type of files to anyone with just a web browser!"

Why it might be a killer

PipeBytes offers a variety of convenient tools, from the option of watching YouTube videos on the site while your file transfers to letting your recipient begin receiving the file as soon as you begin transferring it.

    Some questions

Why can't you send multiple files at once to multiple recipients? Currently you can only specify one recipient per transfer. Another annoyance that is absent on services like BitTorrent is the "resume download" functionality; if your transfer is prematurely terminated, you'll have to start all over again.
