    PalBee.com - Video Conferencing Platform

    palbee

Palbee is a video conferencing platform that lets you communicate with others utilizing a variety of different communication methods. Here, you can host or participate in video conferences that last up to one hour with up to five members across a Flash based interface that functions on all the major operating systems. Its video conferencing format lets you not only use streaming video in your presentations, but also includes capabilities for text, images, real-time conversation, and anything you could do with a web cam, essentially. In other words, Palbee is sort of like the son of a PowerPoint presentation and a video conference in that it takes advantage of several different forms of media and information transfer. When it comes to the presentations themselves, you can share them with others, comment on them, bookmark them, or share them on other web 2.0 services utilizing the Palbee widget.

    In their own words

“Palbee is a Knowledge Sharing service platform on Video Conferencing format (Videos + Whiteboard). Although you can share knowledge only on video or on text formats. But wouldn’t it be more effective if we use both media at the same time?

Palbee takes advantage of “Video Conferencing Format” that supports both Non-verbal (gesture, facial expressions & tone of voice) and Verbal (real-time conversation, texts & images) communication. We believe this new communication medium promotes better knowledge sharing in the Internet”.

Why it might be a killer

Palbee could be a good tool for professional and personal purposes; it could be equally valuable to a PR firm as it might be for a school presentation. Session recordings are free, and generously offer up to an hour of recording time.

    Some questions

Palbee’s description of its services is pretty vague, and the site seems to lack some functionality; when I tested out some of the shared videos, not all of the multimedia content was successfully displayed. The site seems to be incomplete in many ways, and there is some character confusion across the site’s text as well.
