If you subscribe to FriendFeed but occasionally find the amount of information you’re being bombarded with borderline overwhelming, you may want to check out a new service, Moopz, which aims to reduce the “noise level” of FriendFeed. Moopz works by aggregating FriendFeed conversations and grouping them into relevant categories, and only features conversations which include links to the same “interesting story”. In this way, Moopz claims that it weeds out pointless and irrelevant chatter that doesn’t directly link to a site. Additionally, Moopz tries to pull the most information possible from each story to compile a preview of sorts that will let you see whether or not the story is something that you want to look at by displaying a brief summary and image (if available). Each story is automatically tagged with related keywords, so you can search the Moopz site for stories quickly and efficiently either by keyword or tag cloud. Lastly, you can also browse through stories that have made the “Popular” category, meaning stories that have had the most active conversations in the past 24 hours.
