MojoPac.com - Transform Your iPod into Your Own Private PC

    mojopac

Your personal computer unfortunately does not always go where you go; there will be times, when you´re stuck in, say, an internet café in Budapest, typing away at your thesis, wishing you had your bookmarks or Front Page, or musical hit list with you. Now you can with MojoPac; this ingenious software allows any portable storage device to act as your very own private PC. Register and load MojoPac on your Flash drive or iPod; upload all your applications and files; everything you´ve loaded onto MojoPac stays there without affecting the host computer. Once installed, you´ll find yourself in a Windows environment (MojoPac runs on Windows only, unfortunately). You won´t be able to access all files on the host computer, external drivesâ€"dvd, cd, and external USB devicesâ€"however can be accessed from the MojoPac environment. Applications are shared between the host and MojoPac, and it is possible for both host and guest to control their own individual settings, i.e. audio, and run different programs. Give it a try today.

    In their own words

“MojoPac is a technology that transforms your iPod or USB Hard Drive or Flash drive into a portable and private PC. Just install MojoPac on any USB 2.0 compliant storage device, upload your applications and files, modify your user settings and environment preferences, and take it with you everywhere.

Why it might be a killer

MojoPac´s great for those times when you want to play a game at your friend´s house but don´t want to install it; it´s also useful for study sessions, or group projects. Avoids clutter on shared computers, so all users can have their ‘own´ PC´s on one computer.

    Some questions

To use MojoPac you´ll need a fairly large capacity storage device; the MojoPac environment is most likely to be slower than your normal Windows. Will all your devices work properly, i.e. your web camera? Will certain programs operate, or will anti-piracy checks deter proper functioning? Isn´t a laptop a more viable option?
