Minific.com - Short Fiction Gets Twitterized

    minific

Our notorious split second attention spans and perennial lack of time don’t mean that we as individuals cannot create great works of fiction. Minific lets us channel our fleeting bursts of creativity into Twitter mini-stories. This isn’t a collaborative novel or crowd sourced fiction. Rather, each Tweet stands alone as a story in and of itself. It’s fiction of limitation. Plus, unlike your regular Twitter character limit, with Minific, you’re restricted to a mere 131 characters or less. To send in your masterpiece, simply add #minific to the end of your story. Check out the site’s homepage for the latest short fic creations.

    In their own words

“Have a story pounding the insides of your head, but don't have the time to write an entire novel? Let Minific help you capture and share your short bursts of creative spirit!”

Why it might be a killer

Crowdsourced fiction generally tends to fail miserably. A group simply cannot write a piece of fiction which ends up being more than a mere novelty. Minific is different however. Putting restrictions on creative work can often be quite fruitful; and the stuff on the site is actually pretty interesting.

    Some questions

Is Minific itself merely a novelty act? Will anything of any caliber be produced?
