Does this situation sound familiar—you're watching the evening news, specifically the local weather forecast, and the lovely, perky, weather girl says it's going to be all sun and shine all week; so the following day you wear flipflops and a skirt only to be drenched by an unexpected rain shower.
Unfortunately, weather forecasts aren't exactly reliable, and they don't always tell you what you really want to know, like whether you should wear shades or not. Meteostone has been developed as a weather system from the people. This map mashup collects data from people all around the world about the actual weather and shows it on their map. About every hour the info is analyzed and reported for all zoom levels of the map. Joining is free, and the interface is simple; users can input comments and basic weather data—no barometric pressure readings or precise temperatures are needed. Additionally, users can input other significant data about things such as rainbows, polar lights and natural disasters.
