MeadMap.com - Mead Does Online Note Taking

    meadmap

You probably recognize the brand Mead from your school days. They manufacture paper supplies, notebooks, and Trapper Keepers, among other things. They’ve recently taken up the mantle of sustainability and launched an online mind-mapping application tool called simply MeadMap. MeadMap offers a collaborative note taking service with pre-made templates for students to organize their notes for study. The dashboard provides an array of tools available at the click of your mouse. Besides copy and paste tools, students can easily add topics and subtopics, they can insert icons, zoom in on a theme or focus on one topic, and add side notes. MeadMap supports up to 20 users and is available both off and online. It’s compatible with MS Word as well. MeadMap does offer a free 30 day trial version. Otherwise it costs $15 for 6 months.

    In their own words

“Mead Map is easy to use. It saves time.
Students Comprehend their notes and intuitively become better at organizing their notes, research, brainstorms, and arguments as they use Mead Map. The connections that create their notes in a diagram form quickly and graphically help them see and build links and understanding.”

Why it might be a killer

MeadMap provides a very clear and concise note taking tool for students. It intuits the way users takes notes in its range of tools and its navigability. The company definitely has a well made product, which does its part for the environment as well.

    Some questions

Will MeadMap offer students a free version? It’s doubtful that students will want to pay the fee, if they can turn to other free resources. Will they integrate learning materials from publishers?
