MashLogic.com - Take Back The Web

    mashlogic

This startup was born because the team behind it felt it was time to restore the open nature of the Internet, and rescue it from those who link to in-site pages and ads indiscriminately. So, the premise of “Mash[ing] the web into submission” was concocted.

This is achieved by a Firefox application that bears the same name. What it does is to work unobtrusively while you are surfing the Internet and enrich web pages with information and media that is incumbent to you.

This way, MashLogic allows you to browse the web on your own terms, and see exactly what you want to see. For instance, music aficionados have access to audio and video files which are directed from different webpages and presented to their consideration.

The site also includes technical information on how this system is put into practice. Broadly speaking, it all revolves around advanced techniques for the retrieval of information and performance technologies that understand user behavior and act in consequence.

    In their own words

“Commercial interests have hijacked the vision of a globally inter-connected web, hyperlinking their content only to ads and in-site pages. But now it's time to take back the web. To bend it to your will. Mash it into submission.”

Why it might be a killer

There are more than a fair share of people that are not satisfied with the way information is currently accessed online. This is set to put an end to that.

    Some questions

Will other browsers besides Firefox be eventually supported?
