Say what you want about Twitter, it ain’t going away anytime soon. Fact is, the number of Twitter-inspired applications is growing. Daily. This, in turn, inspires even more Twitter news, backlash, applications etc. Take MadTwitter, for example. MadTwitter was inspired by Twitterific, an application for Mac clients that lets you view and post tweets via your desktop—no need to have that browser open 24-7. MadTwitter, as you may have guessed, is the Windows version of Twitterific. To use, you’ll need a Twitter account, and then you just download MadTwitter and install. Once you have it up and running, you’ll be able to keep track of your friends via your desktop. And it doesn’t take up much screen real estate at all either.

“MadTwitter is a Windows application that lets you read “twits” written by your friends and publish your own. It’s inspired in Twitterrific, a really nice application for Mac. As I couldn’t find an equivalent one for Windows I decided to write my own.

Using it is really easy. First, you need to register for an account at Twitter. Once you get your account, download MadTwitter and install it. When executing it for first time, it will ask for your credentials and some options.”

MadTwitter is great for Twitter addicts who want ease of access without having an internet browser all the time. Now both Mac and Pc users can enjoy Twitter via desktop.
