In their own words
“In real-life, people seek out advice from friends, co-workers, family, professionals, etc. Content is vetted though these social connections reducing the number of possibilities, and filtering for local relevance. This filtering is complex and it evolves through our entire lives. It is shaped by the experiences we have, the people we know, and the path that we take in life.”
Why it might be a killer
Search is not over, it´s getting started. Lijit.com focuses on “social search” and if they do the right things (finding the right partners, getting the right influencers to spread the word) they might find something of value. We all know how to monetize search, right? The fact that they´ve cut a deal with Feedburner to provide search services for FeedBurner´s growing collection of nearly 200 publisher-organized networks sounds like a great start to display their technology, helps.
Some questions
Can they make it simple to explain the concept? How about their usability, can they make it simpler, clearer…more web 2.0 in a way? It takes a little while to fully understand this powerful concept, can they make it easier for everyday Joe to get it right away?
