    JakeApp.com - A Collaborative File Sharing Tool

    jakeapp

Jake is a new tool that is geared towards those who are to engage into online collaborative projects. In essence, it lets such individuals drag folders into the application and then share the files contained there right on the dot.

This application is browser-based, and it works in any computer which is web-enabled. There is no need to set up a server in order to use it. Jake also has the distinct advantage of working with documents of every denomination, not just Office files.

The latest version of Jake can be both procured and installed at no cost. It is still a pre-release, though, so do not expect it to run as smooth as the CGI in the new Transformers movie because you will come out of it disappointed. Also, you will soon be able to procure the source code in the event you think you could make a contribution. And if that is the way you feel, the provided Developer Center is worth checking out too.

    In their own words

“Jake is a collaborative file sharing tool that allows you to securely and easily share files on your computer with other people. Just drag a folder into Jake, invite your friends or co-workers and start sharing!”

Why it might be a killer

If you are looking for a streamlined way to share documents with others and collaborate online, this can help you achieve that goal inexpensively.

    Some questions

Aren’t there too many similar tools already available? What makes this one stand out?
