inSuggest is like the Pandora for web pages and photos. Users enter in a series of web pages that they like, and inSuggest will pull up a list of recommended sites based on those preferences. Likewise, you can select images from a collection of flickr photos, and the engine will provide you with a series of similar pictures. Both functions (known as web inSuggest and image inSuggest) are very simple to use- they involve either typing an html address into a box of text or dragging a photo into a square, and the list of suggestions is immediate. You can also search for specific keywords for both the web pages and pictures. Finally, the site offers a “random” option that displays a list of random web pages or photos for you to discover.

How are the results found? We know that Pandora uses complex algorithms to present results that share similar sound elements. Are inSuggest results based merely on other users’ preferences?
