Glassbooth.org – Picks The Best Candidate For You

Glassbooth.orgGlassbooth is one of many newly launched 2008 election applications that helps you discover which candidates you should vote for. Glassbooth accomplishes this by matching up your answers to its two-part political beliefs questionnaire with the tenets of 2008 presidential candidates.

Like Connect2Elect, Glassboth first presents you with a section that requires you to indicate (in this case, using a points system) how important certain hot campaign issues are to you. You are provided with a 20 points, which you must distribute throughout the responses (naturally, you allot more points to the issues you find the most pressing). Once you’re done with this section, you’ll be taken to the actual poll itself which will ask you to what degree you support or oppose current political issues facing the United States (gay marriage, free trade, Iraq withdrawal, etc). Once you’re done, you’ll be shown a list of the top three candidates, along with brief bios, that match your political interests, displayed in decreasing order by percent match. If you’re curious as to why a certain candidate does or does not coincided with your morals, you can click on their name for a list of their views on a given topic, including a list of quotes and how they voted on certain issues in the past.

Glassbooth.org In Their Own Words

“glassbooth connects you to the presidential candidate that represents your beliefs the best”

Why Glassbooth.org It Might Be A Killer

I tried out glassbooth and strongly prefer it to competitor Connect2Elect. In terms of results, glassbooth offers a better explanation of why certain candidates were matched up with your poll answers; quotes and voting history provide a better understanding than simply stating whether or not a candidate supports a certain issue. Additionally, if you’re unclear about a certain hot topic, glassbooth provides direct links to Wikipedia’s page on the said subject so you can get yourself in the know

Some Questions About Glassbooth.org

The only thing really missing here is gun control questions; one appears in the first section, but follow-up questions are notably absent in the second. Glassbooth.org
