    GetMobio.com - Do the Impossible

    getmobio

GetMobio.com is an awesome new tool for your cell phone. Mobio is a free service that allows you to look up all the knowledge you crave while out with your phone. You no longer have to carry around books with numbers and information. Mobio has all that information and more for you. Categories of information include: “Indulge Me” (a listing of places near you that you may have been craving, such as wine bars, jewelery stores, cigar clubs, and high-end chocolates), “Date Night” (lists possible activities, tips, and places to go), and Outwitting the kids” (has a listing of places to go for kids, such as zoos, museums, toy stores, festivals, fast food, and more). There are other helpful categories including “Panic Kit” and “After Midnight”. Basically, there is a ridiculous amount of helpful information available to you from this little tool. You can even make restaurant reservations or buy movie tickets. Currently, Mobio is available for T-mobile, Cingular, and Sprint phones that have internet access, though the actual download wont be available till the next couple days.

    In their own words

“The company´s mission is to enable the creation of mobile content and applications that are fun, simple, and useful enough to merit everyday use. Customers don´t need or want to take the “whole web” with them while mobile. Instead, they want to carry with them only those bits of the web that is relevant for them given their specific tastes, interests, geography, as well as the task they are trying to accomplish at a particular moment in time. Mobio applications leverage web services and the most recent advances in service-oriented architecture to deliver just these “tasty bits” of the web. Our approach to application development and delivery is unique to Mobio and drives positive word of mouth and repeat usage.”

Why it might be a killer

The page is really well done, displaying all the features very clearly. The tool is free, and if people already use internet on their phone, what is the downside to downloading the feature? It´s like a city guide book minus the clunky book.

    Some questions

How many people use the internet on their phones? How long do these pages take to load? Will that make users frustrated and give up?
