In either case, you can upload a picture and then proceed to add plants to it. You are required to define both climate and soil conditions beforehand, otherwise adding plants to it would be a little pointless. The best plants are actually recommended by the site, and you can get a visualization for all four seasons.

It is all very easy to use (not to mention entertaining and even absorbing), and the fact that the site has a social element to it makes it all the more engaging. You will be able to share your designs with just anybody, and more experienced gardeners will no doubt be able to provide you with insight that a computer could not come up with. You can figure out who is who easily - each account comes with a numeric score highlighting that person’s proven experience through the site.
