Flowser.com - An Interesting Take on Amazon

    flowser

Flowser is a graphically enhanced Amazon browser. Basically, once you type in your search query, Flowser will present a visual map which resembles something like a brainstorming chart. Type in clothes, for example, and you’ll find related items based on categories: books, dvds, children, jewelry, electronics, and music. Roll-over any picture and you’ll get a detailed description of the product along with price and reviews if there are any. The screen can be dragged for easier navigation. Click to add an item to your shopping cart. Flowser also features a recommend button which further refines your search by subject matter. Alternately, you can use Flowser in Favorites mode and compile a list of favorite items, adding your own comments and reviews.

    In their own words

“*Flowser is a graphical item browser (image browser). Because it is a browser of the image where flower blooms Flower + Browser =[Flowser] It was named "Flowser". Please enjoy as an interesting tool.”

Why it might be a killer

Flowser is meant to emulate a flower and does give you an interesting visual experience. While it takes some time to get used to, Flowser does aggregate information and presents it in an easy to follow manner. It also gives you a better idea of items available on Amazon and it’s easy to get to reviews.

    Some questions

Flowser is confusing on first glance. It uses Flash which takes a bit to load. The visuals are all over the place. The so called search seed doesn’t pull up related results. The instructions aren’t clear. Basically, it makes shopping Amazon much more complicated than it should be.
