FileDropper.com - Free, Easy File Sharing Up to 5GB

    filedropper

File Dropper is yet another free file sharing service, but with a 5GB capacity, no registration requirements, and a theoretically unlimited download period, this one may be a standout. From the front page of FileDropper.com, you simply select the file you would like to share and upload it to the server. You don’t have to share any personal information about yourself or whomever you plan to share your file with. Uploads are fairly quick, though obviously a 5GB file may lag a bit. File Dropper will provide an easy link for downloading your file, which you are free to share with family, friends, or associates; on your web page; or however you choose. There is no set time period after which your file is removed or when your link expires - as long as your file continues to be downloaded, File Dropper will maintain it for you.

    In their own words

“FileDropper.com was created as a fresh alternative to sites like MegaUpload and RapidShare. Unlike those sites, we do not reel the user in and make them wait for annoying countdown timers. We do not hide the download link with aggressively placed ads. Our goal is simple, to offer the most basic file hosting service so you can share your stuff quickly.”

Why it might be a killer

Anyone looking for a quick, easy, and free file sharing service will love File Dropper. You don’t need to waste time or risk spamming by providing any personal information. Simply upload (up to an impressive 5GB), copy your link, and share it. As long as your file gets downloaded regularly, you can leave it on the server indefinitely, which is a nice touch compared to other services that will only hold your file for a short period unless you pay for premium service.

    Some questions

How often does someone need to download your file before it is considered inactive and removed by File Dropper? Will users concerned with security prefer other services that use passwords or other means of protecting a file from being downloaded by someone other than the intended recipient?
