FeedRinse.com - Tame Unruly RSS Feeds

    feedrinse

Feed Rinse is a free RSS filtering application that allows you to filter out unwanted content by excluding feeds that include specified keywords, authors, tags, etc. There is also a built-in profanity filter, which, when activated, still allows the feeds through but replaces suspected profanities with symbols. To set up personalized filters, you first teach Feed Rinse your feeds by manually inputting the subscription URLs, importing an OPML file from your RSS reader, or utilizing the optional bookmarklet. Then set up as many filters as you would like, and view your rinsed feeds through your preferred RSS reader. You can go back and change your filters at any time, and the new results will immediately be reflected in your RSS reader. With this service, you can also access your "rinsed" feeds from any RSS reader at any time.

    In their own words

“If you've got unruly RSS feeds, we've got your back. Feed Rinse is an easy to use tool that lets you automatically filter out syndicated content that you aren't interested in. It's like a spam filter for your RSS subscriptions.”

Why it might be a killer

Feed Rinse is completely free, having recently shifted even its Premium version to cost-free. The bookmarklet and OPML options make it particularly easy to input your feeds, and the simple, attractive interface makes creating filters – and changing them frequently if you so desire – quick and easy. It’s easy to switch the profanity filter on and off, so, for instance, you could turn it on at work but off when you go home.

    Some questions

Now that even the Premium service is free, how does Feed Rinse plan to make a profit? Are the convenient features and attractive, easy-to-use interface enough to set Feed Rinse apart from the crowds of other RSS filters available?
