EngineYard.com - Leave the Ruby Deployment to Them

Engine Yard brings Rails application deployment to any sized business. The world-wide dedicated team behind Engine Yard brings you reliable customer service around the clock along with an expert tech staff with experience in MySQL and Postgres.

Your Rails app runs on a cluster of slices, each of which runs up to 4 Mongrels devoted only to your app. The other resources, such as database and Subversion repositories, are run entirely outside your slices. Engine Yard employs cluster technology to provide high availability and long term scalability—slices can be added as your company grows and scaling can be performed without changing platforms. Furthermore, it’s reliable with redundant hardware, SAN storage, and a tier 4 class A data center with 100% uptime. Pricing starts at $309 per month for 10 or more slices and goes up to $349/month for 1-2 slices. Setup cost per slice begins at $209.

    Engineyard.com In their own words

“Engine Yard came about in early 2006 because we saw a genuine need: clients were developing business-critical Rails apps, but they didn't want to worry about deployment issues, nor did they want to hire IT staff to manage servers.

Clients wanted Rails-focused 24/7 operations support on top of great infrastructure, plus they wanted a smooth path from 100 users to 100,000 users.

That's what Engine Yard is all about.

Perhaps most importantly, we really enjoy what we're doing and we believe in running a healthy, profitable business that will last into the future.

The technology is fascinating, the people we meet are great, and Rails proves every day that it's the present and future of web development. We're happy to be part of it!”

Why Engineyard.com might be a killer

Engine Yard allows businesses to run Ruby powered apps without having to spend a bundle on an IT team or deployment. Apart from that, businesses have more time to spend on development and they needn’t worry about infrastructure.
