Newcomer Ecovian is joining an ever-growing group of environmentally friendly eco-sites. Ecovian’s focus, however, is on local businesses. It acts as a business directory for the cities of San Francisco, Seattle, San Jose and New York among others. Users will find convenient lists of restaurants, dry cleaners, markets, CSA programs, building contractors, etc; all business included either sell green products, or are actively participating in making environmental contributions. As a member of Ecovian, you can add reviews and ratings along with new listings and ideas about how to improve the site. Each business is given a greenness score, indicated by between one and five trees, the more trees there are, the more ecofriendly it is. The site also features community groups, event calendars and tips.
