The Docx Converter website offers a tool which serves a very specific purpose: the conversion of docx text files in order to make them compatible with older word processing applications.

As the site itself explains, docx were introduced when Microsoft released Office 2007. The problem with this file type was that not only it wasn’t compatible with older versions of Microsoft Word, but it also wasn’t cross-platform compatible. To put it bluntly, it was a sort of white elephant that could only be used by those who had upgraded to Office 2007. The rest were left with a format they couldn’t put into practice.

The process for converting a document is quite simple in itself. You choose the file you desire to convert and supply an e-mail address for the converted file to be submitted and then click on the “Convert It!” button. You can also specify the desired input format from a plethora of available ones. Lastly, it must be noted that a free desktop widget can be downloaded for additional convenience.

In their own words

Why it might be a killer
