Web designers and developers often need to receive large files from their clients and customers but this usually involves having to download cumbersome FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client server software. With DesignFTP, this is no longer the case. All you have to do is create an account and add your FTP server and add one line of JavaScript code to your website. Then, all your contacts have to do is click and upload files to your company´s FTP server. DesignFTP also sends you email notices that files have been received, keeping you aware of each detail. It´s currently only offered as a Private Beta for the guys at DesignFTP are still testing it out, flushing out bugs and gaining feedback.

¨DesignFTP allows web designers, graphic designers, marketing, branding, publishing and advertising companies to easily create an account, add your FTP server, and then copy and paste 1 line of JavaScript code to a page on your own website. It will easily allow your contacts and clients to upload files to your company’s FTP server without your client’s having to download cumbersome FTP client server software.¨
| Why it might be a killer | |||
Web and graphic designers, ad agencies, publishers and anyone needing an FTP client for sending large files should love DesignFTP because it cuts out the hassle of the client having to install FTP software. It will help these people connect better with their contacts and probably gain more than before because of how accessible it is. However, the fact that it´s still in its Private Beta phase makes me nervous about how well it´s actually working. The website itself is also a bit bland and needs some revamping.

When will DesignFTP be available to the public? What is the hold up? How can DesignFTP create a better website to appeal to the public eye?

| Thank you for your wonderful review and feedback! Please contact me if you have any other questions and I would be more than happy to provide some more information to your questions posted here.We are in private beta to test the scaleability and also to get a sense of the market need. We are also finalizing sampling responses on cost from the hundreds of interested testers on our subscription plans. We are emailing every person who has signed up to get a sense of their upload traffic per month and what they would be willing to pay for such a valuable service to replace their (in their own words) "frustration, inconvenience, and lack of one in the current marketplace". With that, I am sure you will see a new design for the site as well, but our first focus is on the application itself and how invaluable it will be for the subscribers. With all this great feedback, we are finishing our price plans and launching the service in a week's time! Thank you everyone for providing the incredible feedback so that we can build this app with you in mind! If you have not been there yet, please go to the site for an invite: http://www.designftp.comPlease contact me with any other questions: leslie@genevate.comLeslie | ||
