In their own words
"Connexions is an environment for collaboratively developing, freely sharing, and rapidly publishing scholarly content on the Web. Our Content Commons contains educational materials for everyone — from children to college students to professionals — organized in small modules that are easily connected into larger collections or courses. All content is free to use and reuse under the Creative Commons "attribution" license."
Why it might be a killer
Learning shouldn't have a price. Connexions promotes the free flow of educational materials giving instructors and educators everywhere an alternative means of teaching. Rather than relying on linear textbooks, Connexions' modules provide a flexible and adaptable learning tool. All content can be customized, printed, mixed, and published; it's up to the teacher. Seems like a great way to open up learning.
Some questions
How is Connexions funded? How are they advertising their site? Will they add filters for separating content by grade level?
