Cloud.Clusty.com - Create your own Clusty Cloud

    cloud

First of all, for all those who haven’t been online for the last 10 years, Clusty is part of the Vivisimo company, dedicated to creating search software. Some years ago, in an effort to beat Google, they came up with the idea of a search engine that wouldn’t just throw out millions of answers to a certain query, but instead grouped the results into different topics, called “clusters”. This way they imagined that people would have gotten better search and discovery results. So, back to 2007, this Clusty Cloud Creator is a Web App Tool developed by Clusty Labs, which lets you create your own Clusty cloud (you have seen thousands of times in different blogs). In three dummy proof steps, you are able to create your own clusty cloud, by entering the query, and customizing your Clusty Cloud’s colors and size. Then they will give you a code (HTML), which you will copy and paste in your own blog and Ta-Dah! There you have your own clusty cloud. The Clusty Cloud Creator is still in a Beta version.

    In their own words

"A Clusty Cloud is a tool that webmasters or bloggers can use to instantly visualize a topic using the familiar tag cloud display. What makes the Clusty Cloud unique is that you can create a cloud based on any topic or query - you don't need tags or months of content on a subject to create an interesting cloud. Clusty Clouds are generated using our search results for the topic you enter. Since the tags you see come from Clusty, you can click on any of them to go to Clusty's search results. Using Clusty to generate the cloud also ensures that it is always up-to-date because the clusters are generated in real-time."

Why it might be a killer

This is an uber cool web app tool for all the bloggers out there. Aren’t they all dreaming of having their own Clusty Cloud? Now there is an easy and fast way to do it, and start getting more and more visits to your blog. Needless to say, this service is free.

    Some questions

Are people going to trust the Clusty search engine, or will they still try getting visits through Google? Are people going to find this service useful? What share of the blog readers search through Clusty instead of Google? When is Google going to come up with something similar?
