ClickTale.com - Because Every User Has a Story

    clicktale

ClickTale is a step up from the typical web analytics tools. It provides you with information on your users´ movements throughout your site via videos. You can watch to see where they click, how far down they scroll, what they pass over, and how much time they spend in each section of your site. You can set how many visitors you want movies of and then check them later. ClickTale also aggregates all of the information it collects from users´ actions and provides you with an analysis of these stats. It is a completely hosted service, so you don´t need to download any software to your computer. A cool function you can use it for is uncovering bugs that users have had while on your site. By knowing their IP address, you can scroll through the movie of their action and see exactly what happened when they had a problem so you can easily fix it. ClickTale brings you a whole new understanding of your users´ experiences on your site.

    In their own words

“ClickTale is a revolutionary approach to website usability testing and optimization. Unlike traditional web analytics that produce pure statistics, ClickTale gives website owners the ability to watch movies of users´ browsing sessions.

Why it might be a killer

The fact that you can view users´ bugs is a helpful tool for web developers. They offer web analytics in a completely unique way. They are taking ideas from people experienced with web analytics to add useful features to their site. They have been in private beta until today, and yet have been getting a great deal of site traffic.

    Some questions

Will people care to watch movies of their users´ browsing habits? Do they have the time? Will sites care enough to get these movies versus the standard web analytics information? What is their marketing strategy?
