ClickableNow.com - Power Up Twitter Via Clickable Links

    clickablenow

“Monetize” and “Twitter” are big words right now, and part of the appeal to me lies in the fact that they seem to cancel each other out, just like Kings in the game of chess – they cannot occupy adjacent spaces. Still, that does not prevent every blogger and media guru offering his own take on the dilemma. For its part, Clickable Now is a service that deals with the issue of marketing oneself on Twitter, and it aims to bring some fresh air into the scene. Will it succeed or be nothing more than a ghibli, IE a passing breeze through the desert that dies after a few seconds?

Its approach is as follows: the Twitterer is given the chance to add clickable links to his Twitter background image. The system entails installing a browser add-on that will let the user see the clickable profiles of other micro-blogging compadres, and this add-on can be downloaded at no cost whatsoever.

The actual process of adding links to the background image is not that hard. In fact, it is quite simple as it is taken care of a la drag and drop, and the picture is not modified at any step of the process.

It is commendable to see the emergence of services such as this one – it creates a model in which the Twitterer’s experience is not drastically changed, and the use of Twitter is not demeaned or hindered in any sense. This one gets a thumbs-up from me.

    In their own words

“Add Clickable Links to your Twitter Background Image.”

Why it might be a killer

Professional users looking to promote their brands will make the best out of it.

    Some questions

How many links can you add to a single background picture?
