CDMBazaar.net - UN Site to Undertake Global Warming

CDMBazaar is a new site launched by the good ol' UN. Its purpose: to initiate a trading service to help cut greenhouse emissions as per the Kyoto Protocol. CDMBazaar (clean development mechanism) facilitates the exchange of info on CDM project opportunities. Users can upload a profile along with information regarding specific projects they are involved with and announcements concerning Certified Emissions Reductions for sale. There are three main market sections on the site: sellers, buyers, and service providers. In the seller section are located profiles and projects in various stages which need financing. In the buyer section, you'll find buyer profiles and purchasing profiles of buyers in the carbon market. Finally, the service provider area displays the profiles of companies offering carbon market technologies and services. Additionally, there's an announcements section for employment opportunities, events and publications relating to the carbon market. The Kyoto Protocol calls for the reduction of greenhouse emissions by 2012.

"The UNFCCC CDM Bazaar is a Web-based facility which serves as a platform for exchange of information on Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project opportunities.
The CDM Executive Board, at its 21st meeting, in discussing work on the registration of CDM project activities and related issues as part of the CDM Management Plan, decided to "Make publicly available relevant information, submitted to it for this purpose, on
proposed CDM project activities in need of funding and on investors seeking opportunities, in order to assist in arranging funding of CDM project activities, as necessary".

In response to this mandate, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Secretariat and the UNEP Risoe Centre on Energy, Climate and Sustainable Development (URC) have launched and manage the UNFCCC CDM Bazaar."

Greenhouse gases, as we all are coming to realize, present a serious problem for the earth. CDMBazaar provides an exchange platform to aid companies and projects achieve the goals of the Kyoto Protocol. It's working towards ameliorating company practices and the state of the environment.
