    bradkellett.com/twitter_stats - Graph Your Tweets

    bradkellett

Here’s another tool to add to the Twitter pile, and it’s called TwitterStats. As if you weren’t already obsessively stating your whereabouts, declaring what you’ve just eaten, and imposing your random thoughts via Twitter, TwitterStats comes along and lets you obsess about just how often you’re using Twitter. You can also look up other people’s stats by entering their user name. You’ll get red lined graphs detailing tweets per hour, per day, per month, top @ replies, and top overall @’s. It’s new and pretty basic and you’ll find that it loads slowly. However, if you’re into investigating Twitter usage this is quite handy.

    In their own words

“This is a totally ugly engine to produce some stats from your Twitter feed and present them with the Google Charts API, including Tweets per hour of the day, total Tweets per day/month, top @replies and top overall @s.”

Why it might be a killer

Twitter is getting a lot of attention these days. It’s slowly creeping into the mainstream and apps like this are useful for looking into user behavior and usage. The curious can see just how obsessed they are or aren’t. Others can use the site for compiling information about Twitter users themselves.

    Some questions

What really is the point of this? Do we need stats for Tweets? They aren’t profitable and Twitter still remains a darling of the 20 something tech crowd. Isn’t graphing your Twitter activity the epitome of 2.0 vanity itself?
