BoxCryptor.com – Encrypt Your Files

BoxCryptor.comA provider of encryption services for files that are hosted on the cloud, Box Cryptor uses the AES-256 standard in order to guarantee the safety of all the data that it processes.

Box Cryptor works by storing data in an arbitrary directory that is synced to the cloud, IE Box Cryptor works a bit like a virtual hard drive. Whenever you instruct it to encrypt anything, then it does so on the fly and stores the resulting files on the cloud. And when you want to read them, then it has everything decrypted in real time.

Box Cryptor is a paid service, but a free version can be downloaded on the site. It will do for trial purposes more than adequately – it can handle up to 2 GB of information.

To work, Box Cryptor requires Windows and the .NET Framework 2.0, but support for Linux and Mac OS X is achieved via EncFS-compatibility.
