Beta.Tellme.com - Find Any Business With a Single Call

    beta

Where should you go to get your dog groomed? Who can get that nasty stain out of your mother´s carpet? Where´s the nearest sushi restaurant? Rather than dialing 411 or consulting the Yellow Pages, check out Tellme, a new beta for finding businesses. With Tellme you´ve got three options: Tellme by mobile, by text and by voice. To use it with your cellular phone all you have to do is download the application via an SMS; next, holding your talk key, say what you want, e.g, ‘pizza,´ or text what you want, and a message will reply with a map, step by step directions, and contact info; standard airtime rates and text messaging fees with your carrier do apply, however Tellme itself is free, but it currently only works with Cingular and Sprint. Finally, you can simply call Tellme on your regular old landline (1-800-555- TELL) and request a business search. It´s super simple and right now it is free-- unlike calling information or the operator.

    In their own words

“Tellme by Mobile is an application that lets you find any business in America by talking or typing. You can either say a category or name on your mobile phone and see the results on your screen.”

Why it might be a killer

Tellme makes it easier to find the business you need. No more typing or scouring through the yellow pages, with Tellme you´ll get the info you want for free.

    Some questions

Will Tellme expand to include service to other wireless providers? Will Tellme raise its rates? How comprehensive is it?
