bcdef.org/flappr/ - Flash Interface for Flickr

    bcdef

Think Flickr could use some Flash? You aren’t alone. The peeps at Flappr have created a Flash 8 interface for Flickr photos. The service includes user tabs so that you can easily jump from photo to photo without losing your place, related tags for easier searching, permalinks, and saving to your favorites. You can start simply by clicking on the most popular photos in the side panel, or you can do a search. Each photo comes with the photographers details and you can view their profile and other pictures within Flappr. If you wish you can also open pictures directly in Flickr. Flappr’s got a slick interface and makes viewing Flickr photos a more aesthetic experience.

    In their own words

“Flappr is a Flash 8 interface for Flickr. Its goal is to provide a more explorative way of browsing the best repository of publicly shared photographs on the Internet.”

Why it might be a killer

Flappr looks good which is key when you’re dealing with photos. It makes looking at photos a completely different experience. It also has quite a few features for saving searches and perusing through the photos.

    Some questions

There are a few quirks in Flappr. For one the user detail doesn’t pop back down which means it blocks the photo view. Also there are no close buttons for any of the pop up boxes. It’s a bit confusing in the beginning how to navigate and find the photos you want.
