Aptana.com - Catch Up on Your Ajax

    aptana

Aptana serves web designers with the tools and products they need to create lux websites with a world class appeal. One of these products is the newly released Aptana Jaxer, a new kind of server, that allows programmers to write Ajax code on both client and server side. With Jaxer, you don’t have to worry about switching between code, simply use Ajax for the whole process. Jaxer is open-source and standards-based; it allows for seamless intergration and communication between browser and server. Aptana’s Studio is another recently launched project that allows for web development and editing. Studio is free and offers plugins for PHP, Ruby on Rails, and Adobe AIR among others. Both products offer end-to-end Ajax development. Aptana promises more products to come.

    In their own words

“Aptana offers two products today that help developers leverage Ajax and related technologies for the development of rich web applications. Aptana’s mission of “end-to-end Ajax” means that developers can hone their Ajax development skills and apply them everywhere along the process of web application development -- from development, testing, and deployment and ultimately through optimization and management.”

Why it might be a killer

Aptana makes web development with Ajax easy. Both Studio and Jaxer are free to use and offer a rich development environment for both beginners and pros. This frees a programmer to focus on creativity and innovation rather than switching codes.

    Some questions

Will developers find Aptana’s products a pleasure to use? Or can Aptana bring more to the table such as .Net? Are the products safe from hackers?
