    ActiveCiti.com - Complete Event Management

    activeciti

Sometimes planning the smallest events can be the most difficult: planning movie trips, going out to dinner, small dinner parties. ActiveCiti lets you organize these events with your friends in an efficient, timely manner so you can get to making more important decisions, like what toppings to put on the pizza. ActiveCiti isn’t a social network: you won’t make new friends, but better yet, you’ll keep in touch with the ones you do. ActiveCiti functions more like an address book, you add all of your friends and then start sending out invitations to events. If events are changed or cancelled, all of the invited friends will be notified immediately.

    In their own words

“ActiveCiti is this extremely cool web application which lets you create events and manage them extremely quickly and easily. It was written to solve an extremely common problem which we faced as students - and that was organising small, everyday events with friends - like going to the movies, planning a dinner party, picnics etc.

ActiveCiti lets you organise these things effortlessly and within minutes.

It also, removes the hassle of notifying all your invitees if your event changes or gets cancelled, because it does it automatically for you.”

Why it might be a killer

ActiveCiti creates an alternative to social networks. It’s not about making new friends, but planning events with the ones you already have. Compared to other event planning networks, this one seems like it’s aimed towards the student population, but I see little to no evidence of and features that are particularly geared towards this target.

    Some questions

Will they create a facebook application? This could help them gear their website more towards students, while also making their service more widely available.
